I love EA tech support

I know that people are often annoyed with EA and it’s customer service, but I have to say that I love them.  I’ve had two issues that required me to make contact with EA.  The first happened while I was still playing the Kendricks.  I ended up with such a glitch that I decided to uninstall everything and start over.   I followed all of the directions but still couldn’t play the game, so  I called and wrote to EA.  I followed everything they said but my game still didn’t work.  I didn’t get it to work until I sort of stumbled upon my own half-assed solution.  But, the nice thing about EA was that they felt so badly that they hadn’t helped, they gave me a PROMO code for $20 toward my next expansion.  That’s how I got Late Night.

Today I found out that they are giving away Outdoor Living if you pre-order Generations.  Well, I’ve already done so.  So, I thought, what the hell, I’ll call and see if they’ll credit it the game to me.  WELL!  Not only did I get the credit, but because they had to change my order to a digital download (I ordered a physical copy), they decided to also give me the other stuff pack I don’t have, Fast Lane. I was floored!

And, the guy was so nice to me on the phone, he also gave me a copy of Sims Medieval!  Can you believe it?  But it gets better!  He also gave me another PROMO code to get my next purchase at the EA store for $20 cheaper.  I plan to use it on the October Expansion, Unleashed.  (BTW, all of these are digital downloads, but who cares?  That’s why I have the EADM, right?)

I am having a fabulous day, let me tell you!  Not that I’m telling you all to call EA if you already pre-ordered Generations and request the free copy of Outdoor Living, but if you don’t already have it, I think you should.  Maybe the gentleman I spoke to was just in a generous mood, but if you don’t already have Outdoor Living, I think you shouldn’t hesitate to call them.  The least that could happen is that you also get the copy of Outdoor Living that they are offering on the Sims 3 website.

Man what a Saturday.  I’m hoping that I get the next Fields update up tomorrow…Monday at the latest.  Everyone have a great Saturday, too.

    This upsets me. I pre-ordered two days ago and saw this today and wondered the same thing. I didn’t call EA, but I went to live chat and spoke to someone who flat out told me no 😦

    What number did you call?

      I called the number for the EA store, in case you didn’t find it. I just hit the pre-order button, went down to the bottom of the page to Contact Us and then called the number. It’s not an 800 number, but I didn’t care.

  2. My experiences have also been good with ea tech support. Other than the 20 minutes on hold I lost my booklets with the codes and I was sent a 10$ credit after he gave me the codes to reinstall.
